Tawnya Coulter (T.L. Coulter) is a passionate author and seasoned professional with a rich background in public service, administration, and storytelling. With a deep love for writing, she brings imagination to life through gripping middle-grade fiction that sparks adventure, self-discovery, and heart. Her debut novel, co-authored with her son, blends magical realism with real-world themes—drawing from her experiences as a military mom and a lifelong advocate for resilience and courage.

Before becoming a full-time writer, Tawnya dedicated over a decade to roles within the U.S. government, including positions with the Department of Defense, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Air Force. She held key responsibilities in records management, configuration analysis, and workforce development—serving both stateside and abroad in Europe.

Her academic journey includes a Master’s degree in Human Services from Lubbock Christian University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from American InterContinental University. Outside of her professional work, Tawnya volunteers as a youth sports coach and serves as a Special Emphasis Coordinator for diversity and inclusion programs.

Whether leading community initiatives or crafting fantasy tales, T.L. Coulter is committed to creating meaningful connections—through both her words and actions. She currently resides in Utah, continuing to write and inspire young readers with stories that reflect courage, change, and the power of believing in oneself.

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my willingness to never give up. No matter the challenges or setbacks, I stay focused on my goals and push forward with determination. One of my most notable achievements was completing my first book—an experience that proved to me that persistence pays off. Finishing that project gave me the confidence to know I could accomplish anything I set my mind to.
